I’ve been long overdue for an update on my nephew, Lincoln. He had his 1 year appointment a couple weeks ago. He weighed in at 19 lbs 10 oz and measured 29.5 inches long. His pediatrician said that Lincoln was the first 31 week preemie he’d ever had whose measurements registered on the 12 month growth chart. You see he’s really only supposed to be registering on the 10 month growth chart (which he does) since he is only supposed to be 10 months old (technically). But nothing about our Super Baby shocks me anymore.
But wait…there’s more. The day after that appointment, Janet (sister in law) went to pick up Lincoln at her sister’s (she takes care of Lincoln while Janet and Andy are at work). Well, Lincoln was so excited that he took three steps towards Janet. He didn’t quite make it to Janet with those three steps before plopping down on his bottom, but he was trying. A few days later, he was up to 4 or 5 steps at a time and had learned how to say, “uh oh,” which by the way is technically a complete sentence. He was waving at you when you would say, “bye-bye” when I was home for his birthday, but now he has actually added the “bye bye” with the wave…also a complete sentence. As of Tuesday, the report was that he was almost 100% walking, and we were advised that he’s going to need some track shoes fairly soon.
Needless to say, I can’t wait for Thanksgiving!
