Janet and Lincoln Update
Janet is finally getting to go home. The doctors were having trouble finding a blood pressure medicine that her body would respond to, and with her anxiety over the last several days, it wasn’t easy. But her blood pressure is finally under control, and she’s being discharged today. YAHOO!!
Lincoln is doing well, too. They have taken the heatlamp off of him, which means his body has responded the way it should to it. He spit up some milk one time last night, most likely due to the nurses trying to feed him too much. 🙂 Apparently, they haven’t taken a look at our side of the family to realize that he will need no help in the overeating category. So they cut back the number of units of milk last night and this morning, but will try to add some more today. As an aside, his primary nurse in the NICU is named Hope. How appropriate is that?!?!
All his tests continue to come back perfectly normal, which would be an interesting trait to have in our family…NORMALCY! He’s our little overachiever. They did a precautionary brain scan yesterday to verify that everything is operating as it should, and though the results haven’t come back, yet, the doctor who did the scan watched it very closely and didn’t see any thing that alarmed him. Lincoln continues to gain weight. He gained back the 2 ounces he lost after birth and just a wee bit more since yesterday. It’s going to take all I have to stay put in Virginia until I can get down there again…Hopefully Columbus Day weekend.
Praise God for Janet’s blood pressure being stabilized, so she can go home and for Lincoln’s continued progress.
