He’s Here: Lincoln Update
My parents called at about 6:45 this morning to say they were taking Janet back for a C-section. Lincoln decided enough was enough. He wanted to see his parents face to face and ask where that really awesome aunt of his had gone. 🙂
I don’t know much. I do know that they suctioned him out and that he did cry when he was born (taking in breath to do so obviously). He was born at 7:33am this morning, and weighed in a 2 lbs. 14 oz. and is 16 1/4 inches long. And HE’S BREATHING ON HIS OWN!!! These are all fabulous signs. They only let him stay with Andy and Janet for about a minute or so and then took him right up to the NICU for everything else.
I will keep you posted throughout the day as I learn new information. Please continue to pray for him to grow strong in this outside world. Also, please pray for Andy and Janet. Andy has been pacing all morning, and my parents say they’ve never seen him this unnerved. Obviously it is understood why he feels this way. Also for Janet who just had an emergency C-section with no epidural because they discovered as they tried to insert the needle that she has scoliosis, which has gone undiagnosed all her life until this point. So she was numbed, but not in the typical fashion for a C-section. They are both, with great reason, concerned for their baby boy, so please pray that they can calm down from all of the “excitement” of the morning and focus on the tasks at hand.
We greatly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have been lifted up thus far, and feel the comfort of the ones to come.
